Christmas w/ Jessica's Mother and w/ Skype in my (our) life!

Today there is something to be thankful for! Besides just having a roof over your head and food to eat. I know there are many people this Holiday season that have neither or a combination of these things have been taken away from them this year. For those of you reading this that have had your life effected by what I  will call the toughonmy I am sorry as it has effected my life as well.
However on another note something to be thankful for! I am thankful for being able to spend time w/ Jessica and her mother. Lets face it just being home the Christmas is a blessing. I know to many a friend that is deployed and God bless them and stay safe. As we enjoyed yesterday the birth or Christ w/ conversation, good food, coffee and presents I thought to myself that I am glad just to be here. We didn't buy crazy gifts or go all out on Christmas this year as many Americans do but it was Christmas all the same. A time to stop and take a deep breath to talk about our year and experiences and a time to recollect and reminisce of past Christmas fun.
There were however several parts of Christmas that were missing for us this year, to many to mention but you can imagine. But one of those big things were my family. With my parents divorced and over a thousand miles away in a snow storm it made it hard for everyone to be in one place at the same time. Almost impossible in fact, but there was something else this time around something that is shorting that distance from California to Kansas and even from Iraq as I used Skype to video chat with family and friends during my last deployment over sea's.
This is what I am thankful for in the tech world now I know that Skype has been around for quiet sometime, this was just the first time that I have said out loud that I am thankful for the free Skype to Skype service. To anyone working for or @Skype thank you so very much for bringing my family closer to me via on simple press of a button. You are providing a great service to all service members abroad that use your services on a daily bases to communicate with friends and family and again I say thank you.
I know that it takes a semi tech savvy person to make sure you have the correct combination of hardware/software and operating system to make sure you can video chat but the service is fairly simple  to get set up. This I do believe will be the standard for voice communication in the years to come.  I can imagine my parents now talking about how it seems like something for Star Trek or something from the Jetsons but it really is amazing.
This today is something that I am thankful for so I had to tell you all in the Internet community as I will call you. I hope you enjoyed.
Not familiar with Skype http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skype check it out.
